The CENTURY 21® network started in 1972 in California under the direction of Richard LOUGHLIN. Real estate brokers from all over the United States have united with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of the independent real estate broker and of offering the consumer a professional quality service.
Meanwhile, the chain developed into the most well-known and desired real estate association in the United States. 98% of the inhabitants know the CENTURY 21® System; and a large majority actually chooses for the CENTURY 21® System when engaging in a real estate transaction.
The CENTURY 21 network is the largest in the world with more than 7 700 offices in 72 countries.
The success lies in the decentralisation of the organisation, whereby the autonomy of each partner in the network is respected. Each CENTURY 21 franchisee, in each country and in each office, is independently owned and operated.
In October 1987 the first French offices joined CENTURY 21®. Since then the network extended quickly and currently France counts more than 650 offices. Thanks to the effective publicity campaigns and the quality of the CENTURY 21 service, also in France the chain also developed into the most renowned real estate society.
The chain is active in Belgium since 1995 and also here it develops very quickly. Growth and quality are emphasized and among the first affiliated real estate brokers this has resulted in an increase in turnover of 89 % within one year.
